WOODVILLE, TX (KTRE) -

A custody hearing for the four-year-old daughter of a Zavalla man killed in a double-homicide Saturday is set for Feb. 12 in the Tyler County Courthouse.

The girl had been in the custody of her maternal grandparents, but CPS took her out for her safety.

The grandparents were in a custody struggle with Nathan Bradley Maddox, 35. Maddox and his wife, Krystal Renee Maddox, 31, were shot dead on Saturday while on a supervised visitation with Maddox's daughter at Mount Carmel Baptist Church.

According to CPS spokeswoman Gwen Carter, the child is in a foster home. She said CPS will present their evidence at the Feb. 12 hearing and a judge will determine what course of action to take.
