Fishing tournament looks to raise money for military heroes

BROADDUS, TX (KTRE) -

A fishing tournament called the Patriot Challenge will be held Saturday, to help raise money for past and present military heroes.

The tournament will be at Jackson Hill Park and Marina and will start just before sunrise.

It's a $100.00 entry fee and all the proceeds will benefit military members and their families, to enjoy outdoor activities and free lodging at the marina.

Tournament directors say they hope the weather won't scare people off from coming out and having a good time.

"If you want to support our soldiers and you want to come out to have some fun and fish for the fund, fish for the cause, then come out because that's what it's all about," said Terry Sympson, founder of Patriot Challenge.

It's not too late to sign up. You can join the tournament just by showing up tomorrow morning.

The next patriot challenge will be February 15th.
