Mother and son double homicide victims identified

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The victims of a double homicide that took place Thursday morning have been identified.

74-year-old Bertha Lee Liddell and 49-year-old Tyrone Liddell, who are mother and son, were fatally shot this morning.

The incident took place at 1025 Voorhees Avenue.
 
"I didn't hear anything last night," said neighbor Tamaja Childress.  "I usually see the guy outside standing outside but there's any commotion or any domestic issues."

Police found Tyrone Liddell dead outside the home and his mother was found dead inside. 
 
Assistant Chief Lee Vance says, "We received a lot of shell casings, some of which are 40. caliber.  We've started processing the crime scene and hopefully we'll be able to glean some information from there."
