Sheriff: No abduction involved in Amber Alert

Posted: Updated:
SHELBY COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

There was no abduction involved in an Amber Alert issued this week for what was initially reported to be a 16-year-old girl and two children.

Sheriff Willis Blackwell said the alleged missing 16-year-old, Viviana Alvarado, is actually 20 years old.

Blackwell said the investigation into the missing alert led to the location of Alvarado and her children late Wednesday afternoon.

Blackwell said Alvarado and her children had left Alvarado's mother's home on Alvarado's own free will.

Officers with the FBI and Texas Rangers were involved in the search.
