TRINITY, TX (KTRE) - A San Jacinto County constable located and recovered a pickup that was stolen from the city barn at Trinlady Park Road Friday.
Authorities think the incident could be linked to a vehicle stolen from San Jacinto County that is believed to be in the Trinity area.
According to a press release that appeared on the Trinity Police Department Facebook page, the TPD received a call about a pickup that had been stolen from the city barn at approximately 1 p.m. About 30 minutes later, the Trinity Police Department received a call from the 911 dispatcher in San Jacinto that said Pct. 4 Constable Alvin Wyatt had located the pickup.
The suspect fled the scene and ran into a nearby wooded area. However, the press release stated the suspect has been identified as a 33-year man, whose name is not being released at this time.
Chief Steve Jones of the Trinity Police Department escorted the pickup's owner to San Jacinto County to retrieve his vehicle.
Jones said the theft from Trinity could be related to another vehicle theft that occurred in San Jacinto County. That vehicle could still be in the Trinity area. People are urged to be on the lookout for a blue 2005 Ford extended cab pickup with the license plate BK36365.
Anyone with any information about that vehicle should contact the Trinity Police Department at (936) 594-2505.
