JASPER, TX (KTRE) -

Federal agents are conducting searches at three locations in Jasper, including the Deep East Texas Council of Governments office.

FBI Public Affairs Specialist Katie Chaumont confirmed the FBI, IRS and the Homeland Secruity division in ICE are at the DETCOG office, a home on Willow Drive and Lighthouse Church of God in Christ. She could not comment further on the matter.

Diggles is listed as the pastor of the church and has a home address listed on Willow Drive.

Executive Director Walter Diggles said in a press release that he had no prior knowledge of interest from federal agents.

"But DETCOG and its staff are giving their full cooperation in participating in the investigation," said DETCOG Executive Director, Walter G. Diggles, Sr., "DETCOG has complete annual audits by an outside accounting firm and our programs are under the continual scrutiny of their federal and state funding agencies."
