HENDERSON COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - A Henderson County inmate who slipped away during a work detail Sunday evening has now been captured.

Marcus Tyrone Grayson, 28, escaped from a work detail at the Henderson County fairgrounds at around 8 p.m. The Henderson County sheriff says Grayson spent the night in the woods, then walked to a friend's house in Sand Flats on Monday morning where he was later arrested.

When police arrived at the house Thursday to arrest him, they also arrested his friend, Elexon Dephon Jones, who had a warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was taken without incident.

Grayson was originally jailed on a charge of unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon.
