NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

A 31-year-old Nacogdoches man is behind bars after police say he tied a couple up, held them against their will and threatened to kill them Sunday morning.

Police responded to an apartment on Peal Street in Nacogdoches just before 5:30 am Sunday morning after a husband and wife called 911 telling police that OBrian Duke, 31, of Nacogdoches had tied them up for several hours in their home.

According to the police report, Duke pulled out a knife and threatened to kill both occupants after he assaulted them.

Both the husband and wife were able to escape and call police.

When police arrived on scene, they found Duke still inside the apartment. He is charged with felony 2 aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and felony 3 unlawful restraint.

Duke is in the Nacogdoches county jail on a $50,000 bond.
