BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Baton Rouge Police Detectives are investigating the armed robbery of Dot Calm Computer Repairs in the 1100 block of Government St. It happened just after 10:30 a.m. Monday.

According to police, a man walked through the front doors and spoke with and employee about purchasing a laptop. The man then left the store.

The employee told police that a few minutes later the man came back and asked about merchandise in the display case. While the employee was answering questions, police say the man pulled out a large knife and demanded money and merchandise from the business.

"I question if the BRAVE project is as affective as it should be. If you are reducing the crime in 70805 but just pushing here to 70802, or any zip code for that matter- it makes you kind of question that project," said Dot Calm owner Claude Louis.

The suspect got away with cash and merchandise. He ran out of the front doors of the business.

The subject is described as a dark skinned black male, 5'9"-5'10", 21-23 years of age, skinny build, low haircut, wearing a white zip-up hooded jacket with denim jeans.

Anyone with information on the identity of the subject is urged to contact the Armed Robbery Office at 225-389-3845 or Crime Stoppers at 225-344-7867.
