HARRISON COUNTY, TX (KSLA) -

Harrison County deputies say I-20 eastbound is down to one lane after a major crash Wednesday morning.

Deputies say a SUV hit an 18-wheeler that had a blowout and was parked on the shoulder of the roadway on I-20 near mile marker 626.

Deputies say the driver of a Suburban SUV reportedly fell asleep at the wheel before sideswiping the 18-wheeler and then rolling over. The driver of the rig spotted the driver laying in the roadway and went to grab a flashlight.

When the rig driver returned, the driver of the SUV had climbed into the rig and suffering from apparent head injuries. Both waited in the rig for emergency crews to arrive.

The driver of the SUV was taken to UNV Health with serious head injuries.
