ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - More than 400 registered voters turned out to the polls in Angelina County and nearly 300 in Nacogdoches County on Tuesday for the first day of early voting.
Angelina County Tax Collector Assessor, Midget Sherman said that lines are moving quickly and there haven't been any problems with voters remembering to bring their ID to vote.
Sherman says that there are a lot of contested races with many candidates running and it should be a great election.
"Starting next Monday, Monday through Thursday we'll be in Diboll, Huntington and Zavalla 8:00-4:30 it just helps to get the crowds worked through that way if you can't make it on election day you won't have to worry about it because you've already voted early," said Sherman.
You can vote early all this week at the Courthouse Annex in both Nacogdoches and Lufkin.
Early voting ends February 28th and election day is March 4.
