Family of Lindale firefighter asking for prayers after discovery of infection

Posted: Updated:
LINDALE, TX (KLTV) -

The family of a Lindale firefighter, who was seriously hurt in a local house fire, is asking for your prayers.

Joe Yeakley's family announced today that doctors found an infection in Joe's lungs. They are hopeful he will be able to recover quickly because they found the infection in it's early stages. Yeakley is still being treated at a Dallas hospital.

Meanwhile, his community back home in Lindale is still showing their support. Saturday they held a family fun day to raise money for Yeakley's medical costs. The Lindale Volunteer Fire Department says more than five hundred people helped make the fundraiser possible.
