DIBOLL, TX (KTRE) - Diboll ISD had a meeting Monday night and one topic on the agenda was picking a new athletic director.
There were two candidates starting Monday night's meeting, but it was Blake Morrison who would leave as the new athletic director.
Morrison has 21 years of experience in education, spending 5 of those years as a head coach and 9 as a defensive coordinator.
Diboll Superintendent Gary Martel says it's Morrison's experience amongst other qualities that set him apart.
"Blake just brought a lot of energy to the table," said Martel. "He's got a background in East Texas type of high school football, and he's played in the big game. He's coached some great defenses, and coached some great teams."
"I'm very excited about being here, and hopefully my excitement and enthusiasm will spark something," said Morrison. "I'm just ready to go. I'm very excited."
Morrison was offered a 2 year contract with the Lumberjacks.
