ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Firefighters with the Hudson and Central volunteer fire departments responded to a house fire in the 100 block of Ridgewood Drive in the northern part of Angelina County Tuesday afternoon.
Central Volunteer Fire Chief Dennis Cochran said a family of three people lived in the home, which he described as a total loss.
Cochran said that someone spotted smoke coming from the residence at approximately 2 p.m. A Central VFD firefighter drove by the home and spotted flames a short time later.
Volunteers from the American Red Cross were on the scene helping the family.
The cause of the fire is still unknown at this time. However, Cochran said that they were told the home had a heat lamp on its back porch for the family's dog. The Central VFD chief said the heat lamp could have caused the fire.
