LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

From Texas Department of Public Safety Public Information Officer, Kathi White:

For Immediate Release

February 25, 2014

LUFKIN, Texas - The contractor on the U.S. 59/Loop 287 North Project in Lufkin will be detouring traffic Friday night through early Saturday morning. Motorists should be prepared to use alternate routes during that time.

According to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), the U.S. 59  northbound On-Ramp as well as BU 59 will be closed from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Saturday while the contractor sets the beams across the U.S. 59 NB Ramp/BU 59.

All northbound traffic will be routed to FM 2021 during this operation. Motorists should be prepared to use alternate routes to avoid delays. Remember traffic fines double when workers are present so slow down in this and all work zones
