(CBC NEWS/POOL/CNN) – President Barack Obama will decide whether to move forward with the Keystone XL pipeline in the next few months, according to Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin.

The proposed pipeline would carry oil from Canada through her state to the Gulf Coast.

The Obama administration's pending decision comes after a State Department environmental report indicated the project won't have a big impact on carbon emissions that cause climate change.

Environmentalists are concerned the pipeline could lead to more oil spills.

However, supporters say it could reduce America's dependence on foreign oil and crew jobs.
