LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Angelina County Sheriff's deputies arrested a 25-year-old Lufkin woman Wednesday afternoon after she allegedly assaulted her mother, violently shoved her 5-year-old daughter from one seat to the other, and swung her 9-month-old baby by the arm on their way back from an appointment.

Erin Elizabeth Hearn is still being held in the Angelina County Jail on two state-jail felony charges of injury to a child and a Class C misdemeanor assault charge. Although a $500 bail has been set for the Class misdemeanor, no bail has been set for Hearn's felony charges.

According to the ACSO incident report, a woman drove into the parking lot of the sheriff's office at approximately 4:20 p.m. Wednesday and told deputies that Hearn, her daughter, had assaulted her and the suspect's children. The woman exited the vehicle with the 5-year-old girl, but Hearn allegedly refused to release the baby.

Once the woman pulled into the sheriff's office parking lot, Hearn allegedly pulled the 9-month-old baby out of a car seat and swung the child in the air by the arm until a deputy was able to take the baby from her.

Hearn's mother told deputies she was driving her daughter home from an appointment when Hearn got angry with her and began hitting her with her hands. She also shoved her 5-year-old daughter from one seat to another.

Hearn was arrested at the scene and taken to the Angelina County Jail.
