NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Hot short stacks of buttermilk pancakes will be given away all day Tuesday at International House of Pancake locations in honor of National Pancake Day and to help raise donations for Shriners Hospitals for Children.
IHOP customers are asked to donate forward to the Shriners what they would have paid for the pancakes. The chapter in Nacogdoches will use the donation for transportation costs back and forth to Shreveport and Galveston hospitals.
"We do that for free, so nobody gets paid anything. All the money goes strictly for the kids," said Robert Parrish, the chapter president.
Last year the one day event raised more than $2,000 for the Nacogdoches Shriners.
The event takes place from 7 a.m. To 10 p.m. Tuesday at IHOP locations everywhere.
