LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - An Angelina County grand jury has indicted a Lufkin woman accused in the hit-and-run death of a bicyclist on Christmas Day.
Jennifer Isabel Mireles, 21, is now formally charged with second-degree accident involving death.
A Lufkin police investigation revealed that a gray Mazda Protege, driven by Mireles, slammed into a bicycle ridden by Alexander Jensen, 22, on Chestnut Street, near Willow Bend Drive, then fled the scene.
Jensen died at the scene that night.
Mireles turned herself in to authorities a few days later.
Among the other indictments released Tuesday:
* Jekson Turcios, 20, of Lufkin, on two counts of sexual assault. Turcios is accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl at a Lufkin hotel in June and a 13-year-old girl in October.
* William James Taylor, 35, of Lufkin, on count of aggravated sexual assault of a child. Taylor is accused of sexually assaulting a six-year-old girl while she was in his care.
