SHELBY COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - The missing Shelby County man was found safe and sound at a residence in the Longview area a little before noon Wednesday. James Eaves' family is on their way to pick him up, according to a sheriff's office spokesman.
Earlier Wednesday, the Shelby County Sheriff's Office asked for the public's help in finding a mentally ill man who wandered off from his father's house early Wednesday morning.
According to a press release, the Shelby County Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 call about a missing person in the Tenaha at approximately 5:49 a.m. THE SCSO deputy responded to a house in the 200 block of Sugar Lane.
The complainant told the deputy that he woke up about 4:30 a.m. Wednesday morning and found that his son, Jackie Eaves, was missing. He explained that his son is mentally ill. the man also said that his son packed clothes and took two pull-behind gray suitcases and his Xbox game console with him.
The father told the deputy that his son has the mental capability of an 11-year-old child.
James Eaves is a white male and is about 6-foot-1. He has a medium build and dark-colored hair.
