HUNTINGTON, TX (KTRE) -

Thursday night, the Huntington ISD school board voted unanimously to name David Flowers as the lone finalist for the vacant superintendent position.

Flowers is currently serving as the superintendent for Zavalla ISD.

After the 21-day waiting period mandated by state law, Flowers will replace longtime Huntington ISD superintendent Eric Wright, who retired after 16 years of service of HISD.

Wright stepped down as Huntington superintendent, so he could serve as the superintendent of Fredericksburg ISD.
