TYLER COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A man is being treated for injuries after getting shot in an officer-involved shooting in the Spurger area Thursday night.
Chief Deputy Phil Ryan said the man was flown to an out-of-town hospital after getting shot by law enforcement officers at a home off of County Road 4375 around 8 p.m.
Ryan said officers from multiple agencies responded to the area after family members said the man was firing shots.
Officers arrived and the man began firing shots at them, Ryan said, and officers had to fire back to make him stop.
Ryan said further details could not be released, including the identity of the man, for now.
Texas Rangers are now investigating the case, Ryan said.
