SHELBY COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

Incumbent Shelby County Judge Rick Campbell tells KTRE that he is still considering a recount of the March 4 primary after the counting of provisional votes left him still one vote behind challenger Allison Harbison.

The provisional votes were considered Monday afternoon in a closed meeting between election officials and a representative for both Campbell and Harbison.

Two of the three votes in question were allowed to be counted. The votes were split between the two candidates bringing the totals of 1,630 votes for Harbison and 1,629 votes for Campbell. The previous totals were 1,629 and 1,628.

The provisional voters had six days to present their documentation to prove their vote was allowed.

As of Tuesday morning, Campbell had not filed a formal request for a recount. According to Leigh Porterfield, Shelby County Republican Chairman, Campbell has until 2 p.m. on March 14 to request a recount.
