HUDSON, TX (KTRE) - It's not hard to find a cute decorating idea on Pinterest. Now, recreating the idea is a different story.
But one Lufkin woman is giving pinning a whole new name by using those ideas to decorate her entire home.
"Light fixtures—changing the light fixtures in our house, is one of our big summer projects," Tiffani Brantner said.
It takes one click of the mouse to pin a new idea on Pinterest and for Brantner, that idea, has turned into her dream home.
"Before Pinterest, I had a notebook and dividers so I would pull things out of magazines and put it in my little divider, so it was my little Pinterest board in a notebook," Brantner said.
Brantner has always loved to use old items like clocks and window frames to decorate her house, and Pinterest has allowed her to come up with new concepts to an old design.
"It's like an online magazine. It's almost like having these pretty things at your fingertips that are obtainable to you because real people have done it in their house," Brantner said.
She usually puts her own spin on the pins, but sometimes likes to copy.
"I absolutely love these shelves. It's one of those things that I loved it and I just wanted to put that somewhere in my house," Brantner said while looking at a pin she used in her bathroom.
But personal touches, like using a clothes pin to hold up a missing sock in the laundry room, are what make her "Pinterest" house unique.
"A lot of the blogs that I find through Pinterest are moms saying 'I do this during nap time,' or 'I do this during mat time,' so that's realistic to other mom's who want to craft. That you can do this, you know, a few hours at night when your kids go to bed, or you can do it when your kids are napping," Brantner said.
Brantner says Pinterest has not only helped her decorate her home, but has helped her de-clutter her life.
She says she likes to get most of her items from junk yards, but doesn't mind going to Lowe's with her husband to get all of her supplies for her projects.
