Man indicted in Slidell bar shooting, 2 killed


COVINGTON, La. (AP) - A 22-year-old Covington man accused of killing two people and injuring six others in a shooting outside of an Olde Towne Slidell bar in December has been indicted on two counts of first-degree murder and six counts of attempted first-degree murder.

Jamieon Chatman is accused of firing a .40-caliber gun into a crowd outside of Shooters Social Club in the early hours of Dec. 26, killing 22-year-old Errol Scott and 23-year-old Mark Womack. Times-Picayune reports ( ) a St. Tammany grand jury indicted Chatman on Thursday. He likely will be arraigned on the charges on March 31.

Chatman is being held in the St. Tammany Parish jail on a $1.75 million bond.

It was unclear whether he has an attorney.
