NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

Orleans Parish Juvenile Court Judge Yolanda King has pleaded not guilty to charges she ran for office under false pretenses.

King is facing two felony counts and appeared in criminal court Monday morning for a bond hearing. She was indicted last week on charges of executing a false affidavit and filing a false public record.

The judge set her bond at $30,000. The 56 year old also pleaded not guilty to the charges against her.

King's residency was the subject of a FOX 8 Investigation. According to the indictment, she put down a New Orleans address as her residence when she really lived in Slidell to run for the judge's seat last February.

King was elected in May of last year during a run-off and was sworn in back in June.

The state attorney general's office is prosecuting this case. The office had no comment today. If convicted, King faces up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.

Her next hearing is set for April 25.
