NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -- The New Orleans Pelicans announced Tuesday that forward Ryan Anderson has officially been ruled out for the remainder of the season. Anderson hasn't played since being injured on January 3, 2014 in a game against the Boston Celtics.
According to the team, Anderson decided to undergo surgery after talking with team doctors. The physicians advised Anderson that surgery provides the best opportunity to make a full recovery. He will undergo surgery on April 8, 2014.
Anderson only played in 22 games this season and averaged 19.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 0.8 assists in 36.1 minutes per game.
