LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Lubbock fire officials say the March 20 house fire that killed 34-year-old Steven Salazar may have been intentionally set.

They released a statement on Tuesday, saying "Preliminary investigation on the fire located at 8617 Jordan Drive the morning of Thursday March 20, 2014 indicates that this fire was intentionally set. The investigation is ongoing and does not exclude an intentional act performed by the decedent."

The Lubbock Fire Marshal's Office is working closely with the Lubbock County Medical Examiner's Office as their investigation continues.

We'll continue to update this story as we learn more.
