Counterfeit cash found near Amite murder scene

Updated:

AMITE, LA (WVUE) - The discovery of about $400,000 in counterfeit money adds a new layer to a murder investigation in Amite.

Investigators discovered the counterfeit cash while searching a home on South Second Street for a gun used in last week's murder of Alfred Hill.

Investigators also discovered three high-quality printers inside the home.

All of the fake cash has been turned over to the U.S. Secret Service.

Hill's sister, Daryl Hill, has already been taken into custody in connection with her brother's murder.
