ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

Angelina County Sheriff's deputies arrested a 31-year-old woman Tuesday because she allegedly picked up a stool and whacked a disabled veteran in the arm after he tried to break up a fight she got into with her twin sister in December 2013.

Debbie Wells, 31, of Lufkin was arrested and charged with injury to a child/elderly/disabled, which is a state-jail felony. She posted a $5,000 bail and was released later Tuesday.

According to the arrest warrant, an ACSO deputy spoke with the 63-year-old victim, who said he had been outside drinking at a residence in the 200 block of Llano Road when Wells and her twin sister got into a fight.

The disabled veteran told the deputy that when he tried to break up the scuffle, Wells picked up a bar stool and hit him in the upper right arm with it, causing a cut. An ACSO deputy took pictures of the injury.

In addition to other disabilities, the veteran is missing one lung, according to the affidavit.
