Entergy: power restored in Algiers

ALGIERS, LA (WVUE) - Entergy New Orleans says power has been restored to residents in Algiers after being out since 5 a.m.

Earlier Thursday morning, about 5,000 customers were without electricity.

Entergy spokesperson Robert Adams says a cable fell at an Entergy substation around 5 a.m. and because of that, crews had to drive around the area and switch customers to an alternate power source.
