Maumee man sentenced for running unlicensed tattoo parlor

MAUMEE, OH (Toledo News Now) -

The Toledo-Lucas County Health Department says Kirk Sumney, owner of Juki's Tattoo, has been sentenced to a total of 540 days in jail after running his tattoo parlor without a license.

Sumney has the possibility to reduce the sentence to 60 days if he complies with multiple probationary conditions.

Over a three-year period, Sumney must comply with no criminal offenses, no possession of any tattoo equipment, restitution to all Lucas County victims that had to be tested for infectious diseases, and 40 hours of community service to be served in the first four months of probation.

Of Sumney's remaining 60 days of incarceration, 10 days will be served at a Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio, while 50 days will be served in electronic home monitoring.
