KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

A Kansas City man and woman have been charged in connection with the murder of a 33-year-old man last December.

Omar T. Muhammad, 20, and Monique Ransom, 33, face second-degree murder and armed criminal action charges.

Eric Harrell's body was found inside a residence in the 2500 block of Quincy Avenue on Dec. 6.

According to court records, Ransom and Harrell were in an earlier dispute, resulting in her arrest.

While being released, detention officers heard her say she was going to kill Harrell. After his death, she acknowledged the statement.

A witness said Ransom and Muhammad went into the residence. While the witness was in his car, he heard gunshots and saw Muhammad and Ransom run out of the house.

Muhammad was holding a gun, the witness said.

Another witness told police that Muhammad recounted the killing while he was in the Jackson County Jail.

Prosecutors have requested a bond of $200,000 for Muhammad and $150,000 for Ransom.
