North shore man pleads guilty to child pornography charges

Updated:
NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

A St. Tammany Parish man captured in an international child pornography website crackdown pleaded guilty Thursday to federal charges in court.

Johnathan Johnson, 27, lived near Abita Springs where he was arrested last month for running two websites that had child pornography.

The U.S. Attorney's Office said 27,000 people from across the world used the sites. The sites allowed members to upload sexually explicit videos of young boys and provided tutorials for how to coerce minors into sexual acts.

Johnson's attorney asked the judge to keep the factual basis of the case under wraps. The prosecutor disagreed and wanted the case on public record.

Another hearing is scheduled on how he will sentence Johnson.
