Timberland Drive: 13 demerits for baseboards in kitchen needed to be repaired, walls needed to be re-painted and repaired, back door must be insect/rodent proof, leaks under three-compartment sink needed to be repaired, leak under sink needed to be repaired, and food stored in grocery bags.

Pete's Place at 299 Old Hwy 69: 11 demerits for employees smoking in kitchen and/or storage areas, personal items stored in prep area, expandafoam along wall under ice machine needed to be repaired, broken tiles under oven and beside reach-in cooler needed to be repaired, leak in men's room needed to be repaired, and dishwasher needed to be serviced.

Taco Bell at 2214 S. First Street: 8 demerits for areas under equipment needed to be cleaned, floor drains by drive-through and under fountain drink station needed to be cleaned, cold water needed in women's restroom, and food handler certifications not up to date.

Subway at 1607 W. Frank: 4 demerits for area under ice machine needed to be cleaned, tiles under ice machine needed to be repaired, and baseboards behind storage shelves needed to be repaired.

Subway at 103 Champions Drive: 4 demerits for personal items not stored separately.

    James Henderson's defense attorney, Stanley Sokolowski, started off the third day of court by questioning the state's witness, Investigator Bill Rulland. The cross examination lasted most of the morning and even a little into the afternoon.     More than a few tar-covered tires are hanging on to the parking lot of a Lufkin tire shop.  On August 31, newly laid asphalt on Loop 287 started sticking to tires of those driving, leaving many of the cars un-driveable. As of Friday, the Texas Department of Transportation hadn't come out with an official cause for the incident, but that hasn't stopped over 600 people from filing claims with them.     Deputies with the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office made two felony drug arrests and seized marijuana, Prometh VC with codeine, hydrocodone, Alprazolam, and ecstasy after a traffic stop near the intersection of Robb and Jefferson streets late Tuesday night.
