The SFA Women's Basketball team is looking to end their season with a championship title under their belts, as they are heading into the Women's Basketball Invitational Finals against Illinois-Chicago.
Despite loosing two starters this season, the Ladyjacks have managed to pull out their own historic season.
After winning the Southland Conference Title, the Ladyjacks fell to Northwestern State in the SLC Tournament Final and missed a trip to the NCAA Tournament.
However, they have now made history winning 3 post season games in the WBI.
"Illinois-Chicago is a really good team. Their best player is a transfer from Louisville," said Head Coach Brandon Schneider. "It's a situation where we'll have to play really well on a short amount of time of preparation."
The final game looks like it could be similar to the style of play that was displayed on the court in Thursday's semi-final game in the WBI.
"Illinois-Chicago does a really good job of getting out and running the floor, and that was something we faced with the College of Charleston. Offensively I thought we were good enough and shot the ball well enough that it really helped us be good in transition," said Schneider. "We've overcome a lot of adversity. I'm really proud of how our players have rallied after loosing in the conference tournament. We set some new goals and continued to play good basketball."
The final is tomorrow in Chicago at 3 p.m.
