Proud of East Texas: Rangerette Showcase Museum

Posted: Updated:
Almost three quarters of a century of Rangerette history is on display at the Rangerette Showcase Museum on the Kilgore College Campus.

It was in 1940 that Director Gussie Nell Davis founded the first Rangerette Precision Dance/Drill Team at the request of the college's Dean, who asked her to "come up with something to keep the fans in the stands during halftime." Since then, performances at bowl games, on television, and even abroad have spread the Rangerette reputation, while high schools, colleges, and even professional groups have copied their style.
