Sweet Rita Red is ready to go home

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

Meet Rita Red.
She's a 2-year-old Kerr-Redbone Hound mix with a sweet, loving attitude.

"She is a little bit shy," said director of Kurth Memorial Animal Shelter, Aaron Ramsey. "She has a sweet personality as you can tell she is a little bit timid and I think a lot of it is being in this environment. You can hear the other dogs."

She was brought into the shelter as a stray but it's obvious she was once someone's pet. She's got great manners and knows basic commands.

Rita is a big fan of toys. She's a big fan of playing with the ball and she may come off a little bit shy at first but she warms up pretty quickly.

"She loves the ball. She loves to chase the ball and get out an exercise." said Ramsey. "A good home would be just anybody who has the time to spend with her. Take her out on walks."
