Oklahoma-Texas game gets new name

Posted: Updated:
DALLAS, TX (KLTV) - Most fans call it what they want, but the official name of the Oklahoma-Texas game for the coming years has changed.

The schools announced today the annual matchup at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas will now be referred to as the AT&T Red River Showdown.

For years the game had been called the Red River Shootout, but was switched to the Red River Rivalry in 2005 to commemorate the 100th meeting between the Sooners and Longhorns.
