CORRIGAN, TX (KTRE) - Following a traffic stop along U.S. Highway 59,Corrigan police officers arrested a 32-year-Lufkin for possession of marijuanaon Wednesday.
Jonathan Craven was arrested and charged withpossession of marijuana. According to a spokesman for the Polk County Jail, hehas not been booked in to the jail at this time.
Officer Jacob Hopper, a spokesman for the CorriganPolice Department, said the traffic stop occurred at approximately 10 p.m.Tuesday. They pulled over a white 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Cravenfor a broken tail light.
Because they suspected Craven might have contrabandin his vehicle, they did a walk-around of the vehicle with CPD canine officer,Leigh. After Leigh alerted on the presence of drugs, the officers conducted aprobable cause search on Craven's Trailblazer.
The officers allegedly found a large plastic bagfilled with marijuana hidden in the rear cargo compartment of the vehicle.
