NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

Nacogdoches Police officers arrested a 41-year-old man in connection to the armed robbery of the Murphy Express store that occurred early Wednesday morning

James Earl Brittain, of Nacogdoches, is still being held in the Nacogdoches County jail on a second-degree felony charge of robbery. No bail has been set at this time.

According to a press release from the Nacogdoches Police Department, NPD detectives and officers from the Street Crimes Unit arrested Brittain at a residence in the 400 block of Travis Street Wednesday night at approximately 9 p.m.

A police report stated that a man walked into the store, which is located in the 4400 block of North Street, and "indicated" that he had a gun before he demanded money. After he was given an undisclosed amount of money, he left the store in an older model tan/black Mitsubishi Montero.
