Radiation Oncology Centers of Ventura County, a leading cancer treatment center with locations in Oxnard and Camarillo, has partnered with the cancer program team at St. John’s Regional Medical Center, and has achieved Full Accreditation status from the American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer (CoC).

For more than 30 years, Radiation Oncology Centers of Ventura County has been considered a highly reputable lung and breast cancer treatment center with many patients throughout the southern California area. Each of the center’s Ventura County radiation oncologists is regularly recommended by area surgeons for his expertise, professionalism and caring demeanor. ROCVC treats a variety of cancers, such as skin, prostate and gynecological cancers.

In 1922, the CoC was founded by the American College of Surgeons to institute best procedures and practices for comprehensive cancer care delivery in healthcare settings. The Commission on Cancer is comprised of a number of special organizations dedicated to the improvement of treatment and quality-of-life issues for cancer patients. The Commission’s exacting standards are meant to scrutinize comprehensive cancer care and cancer prevention, as well as to actively participate in cancer research and education.

Three-Year with Commendation or Full Accreditation status is granted to programs that comply with all CoC standards and receive a commendation rating for one or more standard. The Radiation Oncology Centers of Ventura County accreditation will be up for re-accreditation again in three years.

“As a partner of St. John’s Regional Medical Center, we felt that is was important to apply for this prestigious accreditation. We want to inspire a deep confidence in our patients, and always encourage them to obtain the most value possible for their healthcare needs. We are proud of this esteemed commendation, which confirms our compliance with the most rigorous standards in the cancer treatment field,” says Cindy Jaks, spokesperson for Radiation Oncology Centers of Ventura County.

The center’s cancer-treatment award-winning doctors are UCLA-trained, and not only have widespread recognition for their compassion and expertise, but each is highly skilled and knowledgeable on the most currently available technologies.
