ESPN reports that SFA men's basketball coach talking to Marshall University reps

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - ESPN is reporting that Stephen F. Austin State University men's basketball coach Brad Underwood met with representatives of Marshall University in West Virginia on Thursday.

ESPN's Jeff Goodman tweeted, "Marshall meeting with Stephen F. Austin head coach Brad Underwood today, sources told ESPN."

East Texas News reached out to Underwood, but the calls were not returned. SFA officials could neither confirm nor deny the report.

The SFA Lumberjacks' 29-game winning streak ended March 23, when they lost to 20th-ranked UCLA in the NCAA Tournament at the Viejas Arena in San Diego by a score of 77-60.

The loss to UCLA was the Lumberjacks' first defeat since Nov. 23, 2013.

On March 21, SFA pulled off a surprise upset victory against Virginia Commonwealth in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Lumberjacks beat VCU by a score of 77-75 in overtime.
