NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - After he failed to dim his headlights at an oncoming vehicle, Nacogdoches County Sheriff's deputies arrested a 29-year-old man for allegedly driving drunk with two young children in the car early Saturday morning.
Carlos Ignacio Trejo-Gonzalez, of Nacogdoches, is still being held in the Nacogdoches County Jail on a state-jail felony charge of driving while intoxicated with a child under the age of 15 in the car. No bail has been set at this time.
According to a daily activity report from the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office, an NCSO deputy made a traffic stop on a GMC Yukon on Douglass Road after the driver, who was later identified as Trejo-Gonzalez, failed to dim his lights at an oncoming vehicle at approximately 1 a.m. Saturday.
Trejo-Gonzalez showed signs of intoxication, the activity report stated. After Texas Department of Safety troopers arrived on the scene and completed an intoxication investigation, Trejo-Gonzalez was arrested for DWI with a child under the age of 15 in the car.
The two children, ages 8 and 4, were released into the custody of their mother.
