AUSTIN, TX (KTRE) - A man with ties to Livingston has been added to the Texas Department of Public Safety's Most Wanted Sex Offender list.
Jerry Holmes, 42, of Pearland, is wanted for failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements, assault of a family member by impeding breath of circulation, and bond surrender forfeiture. The Texas Department of Public Safety is offering a reward of up to $3,000 for information leading to his capture.
According to a DPS press release, Holmes' last known address is in Pearland. However, he has ties to several Texas cities, including Livingston, Shepherd, Houston, and Pasadena. He also has ties to Tulsa, Okla.
Holmes has been known to work in the boating and trucking industries.
The wanted bulletin put out by DPS states that Holmes' original charges include indecency with a child by exposure, assault-family violence by impeding breath or circulation, and probation revocation.
Holmes is 5-foot-9 and weighs approximately 220 pounds. He has tattoos on his right arm, left leg, and left hand, and he has a scar on his forehead.
"Don not attempt to apprehend these fugitives; they are considered armed and dangerous," the press release stated.
Texas Crime Stoppers, which is funded by the Governor's Criminal Justice Division, offers cash rewards to any person who provides information that leads to the arrest of one of the Texas 10 Most Wanted fugitives or sex offenders.
There are four different ways to provide anonymous tips, according to the press release:
- Call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477).
- Text the letters DPS – followed by your tip – to 274637 (CRIMES) from your cell phone.
- Submit a web tip through the DPS Website by selecting the fugitive you have information about, and then clicking on the link under their picture.
- Submit a Facebook tip at http://www.facebook.com/texas10mostwanted by clicking the "SUBMIT A TIP" link (under the "About" section).
All calls, texts, e-mails, and Facebook messages are anonymous.
