It was reported last week that according to an ESPN basketball insider, that Marshall reached out to Stephen F. Austin men's basketball head coach Brad Underwood. Since then, the talk on twitter has geared towards Underwood speaking with Missouri.
That rumor for now can be squashed. The key word being, "for now."
In an interview with Kansas City Star, Underwood said he had not been contacted by Missouri, but it's a job he would be open to.
Underwood said, "It's an unbelievable job. That's my type of job. The basketball aside, it's been a great spot for many years with a ton of great players. It's a great university, but I'm still the coach at Stephen F."
In his first year at Stephen F. Austin, Underwood lead the Lumberjacks to a 32-2 record. Along the way, the team clinched their second consecutive Southland Conference Title, and made school history after beating VCU in the NCAA Tournament, advancing to the second round.
