Houston Co. chief deputy: Inmate throws urine at jailer, splashes man's mouth, eyes

CROCKETT, TX (KTRE) -

A22-year-old Crockett man is now facing a felony assaulting a public servantcharge after he allegedly threw urine at a male detention officer at theHouston County Jail Tuesday.

Accordingto Chief Deputy G.P. Shearer of the Houston County Sheriff's Office, VincentJohnson was already in custody for three misdemeanor charges - disorderlyconduct, criminal mischief, and criminal trespass when the incident allegedlyoccurred Tuesday. 

Shearersaid Johnson was in a separation cell. During meal time, a detention officerwith the jail walked by the cell, and opened a small door to send food throughto Johnson. Johnson allegedly used a cup to throw urine on the detentionofficer, getting the liquid in the officer's mouth and eyes.

Thejailer will have to undergo testing to see whether or not he has contracted anydiseases, Shearer said.
