A portion of northbound Interstate 71 is closed in Gallatin County after a truck carrying a piece of heavy equipment slammed the equipment into an overpass.
The crash happened at the 64 miles mark where I-71 runs under Kentucky 562.
The crash knocked chunks of concrete off the bridge that are so large, crews are have to use a jackhammer to break them up before moving them.
One of the northbound lanes of I-71 is open. Earlier, I-71 northbound lanes were closed at the Glencoe exit.
