HUDSON, TX (KTRE) -

Hudson Hornets athletics is celebrating a milestone reached by their baseball coach, Glen Kimble, who has now recorded his 300th win with the program.

Kimble has been with the Hornets baseball program for 14 years now, and recorded his 300th victory Tuesday when the Hornets beat the Shepherd Pirates 5-0.

In honor of their coaches success, the team gave Kimble a signed baseball and a plaque. It was a complete surprise to him.

"I wasn't expecting it. I was just wanting a game of baseball is all I really wanted, and when they showed that it was special," said Kimble. "It feels like yesterday when I started. I remember the first win, and last night was special to get that 300th."

"It's the 300th win. That's a lot of wins. He deserves it," said Gentry Ford, a senior baseball player. "He's a great coach. Anybody that can get that much wins under their belt deserves it."

Kimble is looking to get his 301st win this Friday, when they wrap up district play against Diboll.
