Senior dog Chunky needs a new home, no adoption fee

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

He's black and white and furry all over.

Chunky is a 10-year-old Border Collie mix who has spent his whole life in a home until now.

"The previous owners, the reason that the dog was surrendered, we were told that they were moving out-of-state," said Aaron Ramsey, Director at Kurth Memorial Animal Shelter.

He is a great dog with a caring side.

"We go and visit nursing homes and bring dogs and let the residents interact with them. Chunky went," said Ramsey. "We took Chunky last week to a nursing home. He did great with the residents there. Very friendly dog."

Chunky still has lots of energy still likes to go run around and play and likes attention. He's perfectly comfortable hanging out here and getting petted and giving kisses. Chunky is very friendly, mature and would make a good friend to anyone.

"Just someone who can spend a lot of time with him and he can live out the rest of his years," said Ramsey.

Also because he is a senior dog. There is no adoption fee for Chunky. For more information on how to adopt our furry friend Chunky, call Kurth Memorial Animal Shelter at 936-633-0218.
